I always start off my new year right with the best local race around – the Icebreaker 8K! It’s a fast race, and has a great post-race feast with lots of friendly volunteers. Love it – I never miss it! @debrakato

With the picturesque, fast course along the Fraser River, the Steveston Icebreaker 8K is a great opener to the road running season. The event and Kajaks showcase the value that events bring to local communities. @bc.athletics @bcsuperseries
The Steveston Icebreaker is a fun, fast 8km race with excellent post-run festivities, massages, coffee, food, and prizes! The Icebreaker is the best race to start your year, and grab a PB all in one go! @deaner @stvstnruncrew

The Steveston Icebreaker is such a fun way to start out the New Year’s race season. It’s flat and fast which means most of the run community shows up and the after party with lots of yummy food means everyone hangs out and has a great time socializing after. The kids’ race and after-race activity room makes it a great morning activity to share with the entire family. @moustachemiler
Haven’t missed the event since and can’t wait to get back to business of crushing that course (wink, wink) and eating pizza! Race day is ALWAYS circled on my calendar. In all seriousness, there is no better way to start your year with this fitness measuring-stick race. I’m always blown away at how fast our male and female athletes move, and always inspired how hard the slower runners work to complete the same out-and-back trek. I have been socially distancing from everything except pizza for the past year so I’m so ready to roll! @funontherunohgord
